The Easter Song

My newest song. I tried to finish it by Easter Sunday, but I was about 2 days late :(
Thanks to Saki for singing with me.

You can download it here: Stephen Hunter - The Easter Song.mp3

Remember, when you listen to thoughtful music, you should listen loud on good speakers. And for goodness' sake: don't listen on laptop speakers! At least use some good headphones or earbuds.

Hello Stephen, my name is Ximo, writing from Spain.

I discovered your song in a youtube video for your Portal map, BoxyTrixy (that almost makes my brain explode, by the way ;-) )

I really love it! I've listened to others of your compositions and for instance "Wake my soul" is also very nice but "The Easter song" is the one I like most.

Please, would it be possible to get the lyrics? I am not so good in understanding spoken English and while I understand many spare words I don't get the full story.

I really would like to enjoy the song in its full meaning. A simple plain text would be fine, just to know what's said. I'm feeling I'm losing something, I hear something about "heart bleeding" and "still alive", but don't understand the full story. I hope the lyrics are happier than the beginning of the song ;-)

Thank you in advance for the lyrics, if it's possible. If not, thankyou for the song!

Ximo

Oh wait! "heart bleeding"? "He's alive"? EASTER SONG?

Isn´t it about Christ? I'm silly I didn´t think about it ;-)

That explains the sad beginning ;-)

I'm glad you like the song and the Portal level. They take a lot of time to make, and I don't get any money from them, but it's rewarding to know that people get value out of them.

Lyrics: ----------------------

His heart again is beating
His grace and truth are meeting
The reign of death retreating
He is alive!

The curse of sin reversing
The plan He's been rehearsing:
Unveiled.

Now bells of hope are ringing
A glimse of heaven bringing
The hearts of men are singing
He is alive!

This moment changes everything
Can this really be happening?
It is.
------------------------------

It's a song about Easter: the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The beginning isn't happy because I was trying to represent the death and burial of Jesus.

Now I need to make a song about Christmas...

---I just saw your 2nd comment after typing my answer. You got the correct answer :)

Thank you very much!

After writing my comments I noticed the post was more than one year old, so I thought maybe the blog was abandoned.

So it's been a pleasing surprise you have read and answered my petition (and so quickly!)

Thank you for the lyrics, now I can sing it! ;-)

Since I first knew about the song in the video, where only the sang part is, I got a bit dissapointed with that sad beginning since I was expecting a full song like the sang part. After realising that the name of the song was not only because of the releasing date, I understood that and, well, I still like most the final part but now the sad beginning makes sense for me.

Congratularions, it's a beautiful song. I will be checking the Christmas song project!

Best regars,
Ximo
